The corporate world has been gunning for paperless nirvana for quite some time now.
I recently purchased a Fujitsu ScanSnap for home. I have been using it for about a week now. I am using it in combination with HighRise from 37signals. Any bill, tax documents, medical documents, pay stubs, or whatever else I deem important gets scanned. I keep a copy on my local PC, which is backed up to a network drive. HighRise also receives a copy to help me manage the mess. All paper (except for extremely important things) gets shredded.
So how is it coming? Grand so far. The ScanSnap is amazing. It is able to scan both sides of a page in a single pass.
I should note that the catalyst for all this came from this post on the 37signals blog.
